Secret Combinations on Your Keyboard

Do you know how many secrets are hidden inside of your computer?

These days in digital life lot of things have changed. We almost don’t like to use mice and prefer touchpads and touch screens. But a keyboard is the only thing that seems to be unchanged. Here’s a list of all the hotkey combinations. Windows key button will be involved in all the following combinations.

1. If you just press the Win key it will open the Start Menu. In Windows 8.1 it will open the previous window.

2. Press Win key + A. In Windows 10 it will quickly open the Action Centre. The Action Centre gives you quick access to your computer settings.

3. Th combination of Win key + B key selects the first icon in the Notification Area. You can then switch between the icons using the arrow keys.

4. Win key + Ctrl + B.This combination switches to a program indicating a new message in the Notification Area.

5. Press Win key + C keys. It will show the Charm Bar in Windows 8 and 8.1 versions. In Windows 10 it will open Cortana but only if you are using a supported language. For English, it should work just fine.

6. This one is helpful if you want to minimize all the opened windows fast. Just press Win key + D key, and you will see your desktop in a split of a second.

7. This combination will provide Quick access to Windows Explorer. For that press Win key + E keys together.Easy as that. In Windows 10 it also opens the Quick Launch by default.

8. Win key + F key pressed together opens ’Find files and folders. In Windows 10 it opens Feedback hub.

9. Three keys: Win key + Ctrl + F open ’Find computers’

10. Win key + G key It works differently in different Windows versions. In Window 7 and Vista it will compile all the gadgets to the foreground that are in process at the moment.

11. Press Win + K keys. It will open a new Start menu Connections in Windows 8 and 8.1. If you want to change the user or lock the workstation urgently.

12. Just press Win key + L  and it will do it for you. Another hotkey combination that you are going to use every day for sure.

13. Win key + M minimize all windows

14. it will help to restore the last minimized window. Just press these 3 keys: Win + Shift +  M.

15. Win key + O pressed together will lock your device orientation and will disable the gyroscope function on tablets.

16. Are you using any external monitor or projector? Then press Win key + P key, and it will switch operating modes. It works only for Windows 7 and newer.

17. Win key + Q. It will open Search charm for all installed apps in Windows 8 and newer.

18. Press the Win key + R  key it will open the Run dialog box and then choose a program or application you want to run.

19. Win key + T will switch focus to the Taskbar. It works only in Windows 7 and newer.

20. Win key + U will open the Utility Manager for you.

21. Do you need to work with the notes or screenshots? Press Win key + W  and it will open Windows Ink Workspace.

22. Win key + X will open the Windows Mobile Application Centre. This will work only for mobile computers in Windows Vista and 7.

23. Win key + Y key will start Yahoo! Messenger for you if installed already.
